I’ll never forget yesterday afternoon. Of his 1sts, this was extra fun because it was such a surprise. Biggest of thanks to Grandma & Grandpa Tanaka for the tackle & bait!

Yesterday’s partial around-the-island drive was the best… Grandma Tanaka visited us & we then went to the Bishop Museum to see their Dinosaur exhibit! Following, Grandma went shopping while the kid went to play mini putt & then it was off to go fishing. What a huge surprise! It put up a good fight & such a beautiful hue of blue under the surface while coming up <3 Like Vegas, we cashed out & hit the road to get an acai bowl & going to the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame. The kid was super excited, especially touching (lightly) Marcus Mariota’s #8 jersey! Lastly, we played some golf at sundown & made a par apiece ( Video ). While leaving, Isaiah said, “It’s only Wednesday & I’m already going to miss Spring Break =)

Isaiah wanted to catch one 6 months ago & we’ve been trying ever since. I’ve had him use 8 lb test to make for a good fight & this 2.5 ft beauty did not disappoint. It took the kid 5-10 minutes to land with the reel singing several times. There are no words for when it initially broke the surface… he was STOKED. Afterwards, he whipped & caught a beautiful 8-inch Omilu, his 12th Papio. Both were released <3
